Abstract

This study registered the occurrence of the Order Chlorococcales sensu lato in depuration tanks of effl uents from bovine waste treatment with the presence of the macrophyte Landoltia punctata (G. Mey.) D.J. Crawford. Samples were co llected from May to October 2006. We identifi ed 20 taxa belonging to the genera: Ankistrodesmus (1), Coelastrum (1), Coenocystis (1), Crucigenia (1), Desmodesmus (2), Dictyosphaerium (1), Kirchneriella (1), Monoraphidium (3), Oocystis (1), Pediastrum (1), Scenedesmus (5), Selenastrum (2). Scenedesmus was the most representative genus with fi ve taxa (25%). Temperature and pH values are relevant
factors in the development of species.
