Abstract

The organic market and the prices practiced in the main commercialization channels in the city of Goiânia, GO. Organic agriculture began to gain institutional space in the 1980s, due to the search for healthy foods and concern for the environment. In this case, the demand for organic products has increased considerably in recent decades, but the high price of these products means that only a small portion of society has access. That said, the objective of this work is to analyze the market of organic products and the prices practiced in the city of Goiânia, to achieve this purpose, a literature review was carried out, which served as a theoretical foundation and fed the discussion of the results. Data collection took place during the pandemic period in April, through observations and notes. The itinerary included a visit to an organics fair and another to a conventional agricultural products fair, a visit to an organic products store and another to a conventional products store, and finally a survey was conducted in a supermarket of a chain which sells organic products and another visit to a supermarket belonging to another chain that sells conventional products, totaling six visits to six sales channels. The results show that there is a big difference in prices between organic and conventional products, the variation can be greater or less, depending on the sales channel.
